In the bottle – blowing process, the halogen lamp’s primary function is to heat the glass to a workable temperature. The high – power 600W lamp can quickly raise the temperature of the glass pre – forms. As the glass reaches the appropriate temperature, it becomes more pliable, allowing it to be blown into the desired shape. The even heat distribution provided by the round – shaped 450mm lamp helps to avoid cold spots or uneven thickness in the glass bottles.
Color Enhancement
The “ruby” characteristic of the lamp might play a role in enhancing the colors of the bottles. If the lamp emits light in the red – orange spectrum (which is typical of ruby – colored light), it can interact with the pigments or additives in the glass used for coloration. This can result in more vibrant and consistent colors in the final bottles. For example, if the glass contains certain metal oxides for color, the heat and the specific light spectrum from the lamp can cause these oxides to react in a way that intensifies the color.
Process Monitoring
The light from the lamp also aids in the monitoring of the bottle – blowing process. Operators can observe the glass as it is heated and blown, and the ruby – colored light might provide better contrast for visual inspection. They can check for any irregularities in the glass flow, such as bubbles or uneven stretching, more easily than with a different – colored light source. This helps in ensuring the quality of each bottle produced.
